Day 1 - Anatomy of a Project

A few weeks ago a potential customer reached out to regarding my Orange Market Tote.  She represents a Sorority at one of State Universities and inquired if she could customize the tote with a different material for use as Bid Day Gift and oh, she wants 65 of them by August.

So here I am, about to embark on my largest order to date. Where to begin, I guess I will be put on my Project Manager hat and begin the planning process.  I have to have the totes ready for shipment sometime in mid to late July. This should be interesting as I only have 10 weeks to complete everything.  Oh if only I could quit my day job.
Stay tuned…

Pockets

Aside from the Stanley Cut Hockey Playoffs : ) it's been quiet around the studio.  I've been working on a few orders and snapped a few photos as I was pocket production mode.  These are the slip pockets I use for my Messenger Bags.

For some reason, I enjoy making slip pockets, not sure why...Perhaps it's the texture of the undyed canvas, or perhaps I just look forward to stamping my logo on them?

I Love Orange

I am still sewing and slowly adding things back into the shop, but I had to stop and tell you that I love Orange!

I have also discovered a wonderful European Linen.  It's an Italian Linen in a bright Orange Spice. Add some beige burlap fabric and attach brown leather straps and  you get one Orange and Beige Canvas Market Tote.
On the inside you will find a sturdy 10oz canvas with lots of pockets to hold more stuff.
